Answering the Affordability Question

第一个, you need to file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for federal grants and loans. Factors considered in this application include:
- 收入

- Number of students in your family attending university
The FAFSA determines your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and the maximum amount of federal aid you can receive. This information is provided to your financial aid counselor at Utica, who will look into other sources of assistance available through the University, 包括:
- Federal, State and Institutional Grants

- The FAFSA will open for 2024-2025 academic year by December 31, 2023. (See the official Federal Student Aid web site for details.)
- 利记sbo has established no deadline or priority date for the FAFSA to be completed. Applicants may file on a rolling basis.
- Prospective students will receive notification of their financial aid award package in early spring 2024.
In order to receive a financial aid award notice, you must have a completed FAFSA on file and acceptance into 利记sbo. The FAFSA determines your Student Aid Index (SAI) beginning in the 2024-25 Award Year. The SAI is a number that determines each student’s eligibility for certain types of federal student aid.
Important: Applicants and other contributors must consent to the use of their federal tax information (FTI) on the FAFSA. An applicant or contributor can enter income and tax data manually on the FAFSA. 然而, we cannot accept the FAFSA and the applicant will not be eligible for federal student aid until all required contributors provide consent. (Because the FUTURE Act requires consent to use FTI for federal student aid eligibility and FTI includes filing status, non-tax filers must also consent.)

New York State residents are encouraged to complete the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application on the state website for additional aid provided by NY state.
